Hidroelectrica has selected the contractor for the solar power plant to be built in Țara Hațegului. The winner of the open tender is a Romanian consortium led by Electro-Alfa International, with General Me.el Electric as the other member.
With an investment of 24.4 million lei (about 4.8 million euros excluding VAT), a solar park with an installed capacity of 8.9 MWp and an average annual production of approximately 11 GWh will be constructed.
“The signing of this contract represents a new important milestone in our development strategy,” said Bogdan Badea, CEO of Hidroelectrica. “The Țara Hațegului photovoltaic park project reaffirms Hidroelectrica’s commitment to investing in modern and efficient green energy production capacities, diversifying the company’s energy mix.”
The project will be implemented on a turnkey basis and includes design activities, equipment supply, construction works, testing, commissioning, and technical assistance during the warranty period. The contract duration is 12 months, consisting of a 2-month design phase and 10 months for construction.
Hidroelectrica is Romania’s largest producer of electricity from renewable sources, with a portfolio of over 6.3 GW of installed hydropower capacity and the Crucea wind farm.
