Plant sale offers Spokane residents a chance to beautify gardens

SPOKANE, Wash. – Gardening enthusiasts had the opportunity to enhance their yards this weekend with plants and flowers from a sale at Manito Park on Spokane's South Hill.

The Associated Garden Club organized the event, offering a variety of plants and flowers for sale. Each February, club volunteers reopen the hoop house next to the Gaiser Conservatory in Manito Park. They spend months preparing seeds and plants for the spring sale.

The club also made Mother's Day special by giving free plants to kids during the event. Those who missed this sale have another chance next month when the Friends of Manito will host their own Spring Plant Sale on June 7.
